TOUR INFORMATION

The ride provides an excellent way to see Viet Nam. We start biking from Hanoi and continue south to Saigon, a distance of 1,200 miles, with strategic rest stops along the way. We have planned an overnight trip to visit Ha Long Bay in the North as well as an overnight trip to visit the Mekong Delta in the South, along with an extra day in both Hanoi and Saigon.

We receive constant smiles all along our trip, and are welcomed warmly by everyone from children to old ladies. There are wonderful opportunities to ask questions and converse about life in our two different countries and cultures. People may ask about the war, not in the sense of hatred or bitterness, but rather with curiosity to know and share the experience.

Riders often stop at schools, temples, churches, weddings, and other events to experience more of the Vietnamese culture. This interest is welcomed and honored by many Vietnamese, and we will try to coordinate as many cultural events as possible for our riders to experience during their visit to Viet Nam

The landscape will vary greatly over the course of the trip. Viet Nam is well known for its coastline, and we'll be spending the night at some beautiful beaches, like Lang Co and Nha Trang. Along the way, riders will also experience many scenic mountain vistas. Unlike other organized bike rides, we encourage riders to explore Viet Nam at their own pace. Riding as a group can be fun, but if one wants to explore on their own, it can be done. The only requirement, if one were to choose to ride separately, would be to complete the ride each day before dark. We would encourage riders who wish to take more time to explore other interests to use alternative transportation in addition to the bike to explore, such as local trains and buses.

Viet Nam is becoming quite well known for its cuisine. We'll experience a variety of foods, cooking styles, and spices during the ride, including lots of fresh, local produce and seafood. Meals can be arranged according to the rider's likes and dislikes, including vegetarian requests. A highlight of the trip is having a vegetarian lunch in Hue at a Buddhist temple.

People come to Viet Nam for many different reasons. If the trip itinerary does not fit with your purpose for going there, we will be happy to assist you with arranging other excursions. We are proud to be the only bike tour to cover from Ha Noi to Ho Chi Minh City and include excursions to Ha Long Bay and the Mekong Delta.

You may wonder about the inexpensive price for our tour when comparing it with other tours to Viet Nam. Our purpose of taking you there is not to make money, but rather to bring to closure any misunderstanding of Viet Nam. Your tour price will cover all the basics of food, lodging, and support. A modest mark-up over our costs will remain in Viet Nam to help support Vietnamese children's education.
